Susanne Engels has served as principal of the NE school since 2012. Prior to that, she served as Director of the Allen Street program for three years and as a district-wide Psychologist for the Rutland City Schools for 16 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Vermont, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Castleton University. She resides in Rutland City with her husband and pets and cherishes time with her two adult children and extended family members.

Sharon Napolitano has returned to NE Primary as the Coordinator of Support Services, Birth through Grade 2, after seven years as the Rutland Middle School Assistant Principal. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and an Endorsement in Special Education from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis as a Reading Specialist from Mansfield University, and is endorsed as a Director of Special Education and Principal from Penn State University and Castleton University. Sharon lives in Sunderland, VT, and enjoys being with her pets, doing minor renovations, and gardening.
